The music industry was united in their grief this week as the Grammy Awards were dedicated to the memory of Whitney Houston.

Singer LL Cool J, who hosted this year’s awards, opened the event with the words: ‘There is no way around this – we have had a death in our family.’

A moment’s silence was followed by a prayer led by LL Cool J in which he said the world was left with Houston’s ‘lasting legacy of music to cherish and share forever’.

The Grammy award winning singer was found dead in the Beverly Hills Hilton on saturday afternoon. Whilst the cause of death is unknown speculations have been ice that Whitney finally lost her long battle with substance abuse. Awards were dedicated to the memory of the legendary singer as the star-studded audience was shown a clip of Houston’s famous 1994 Grammy’s performance of I will Always Love You, which was later performed live by soul power house Jennifer Hudson.

Below we’ve compiled some of Whitney’s most iconic looks. RIP Whitney.
